Robbie McIntosh (1940-1974) was ahighly acclaimed Drummer and founder member of the Average White Band (AWB). Known for his sophisticated, "pocket-heavy" style, he anchored the band's breakthrough hits before his life was tragically cut short.
McIntosh co-founded the Average White Band around 1971–1972. He played on their debut album, Show Your Hand (1973). He laid down the iconic drum groove for the million-selling instrumental track "Pick Up the Pieces", which reached #1 on the US Billboard chart from their self-titled 1974 album AWB.
Before AWB, McIntosh played with Scotland's soul outfit The Senate and Brian Auger's Oblivion Express, appearing on their first three albums. He also contributed to tracks for Chuck Berry (including the hit "My Ding A Ling") and jazz flautist Herbie Mann.
Following his tragic death, he was buried in his hometown at Barnhill Cemetery, Dundee, and Steve Ferrone took over as AWB’s drummer.

Put It Where You Want It - Written By Joe Sample
Put it where you want it
That won't take much time
We can make the best of it and I could make you mine
Put it where you want it
Bring your love over here ( bring it to me)
One thing that I'm sure of honey, mine won't disappear
Put it where you want it
Lay it on the line, (lay it down) you can share your love around
And I can share my time (I can share with nobody)
Put it where you want it, well that ain't hard to do
One man has to win your love, one of us has got to lose
I've been searching the whole wide world
But love like yours is so hard to find
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it, I just want you to know
That won't take much time
We can make the best of it and I could make you mine
Put it where you want it
Bring your love over here ( bring it to me)
One thing that I'm sure of honey, mine won't disappear
I guess there must be at thousand guys who want you
But I'm the one who wants you the most
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
Put it where you want it
